Humans have always had a sweet tooth, judging from a 17,000-year-old Spanish cave painting. It shows a person climbing up a cliff to take honey from a hive built into the rocks, while bees fly all around in defense. A lot more trouble than driving through Krispy Kreme for a hot cruller, but the honey probably tasted even better to the person that had to endure the pain of a few bee stings...
